The lotto report: week 18 in numbers

Since you are probably very busy yourself, ELS Lotto will provide an overview of the latest lotto news. What Jackpot was (finally) hit? Which lottery is new or is going to change? Which lotto winners have we seen on the Internet during the past week? Every week, ELS Lotto gives you an overview of the main lottery events, news and tips.

A summary of the past week (May 2 - May 8, 2016)

12 - A single winner: almost £12 million

The odds of choosing every number correctly are not very high. Otherwise there wouldn’t be such incredibly large jackpots up for grabs on a regular basis. So if it happens that you are the only one to choose every number right, you will have ample reason to celebrate! You won’t share the Grand Prize with anybody else, and your imagination can soar free when deciding what to spend your new money on.

The one winner of “Wednesday’s Lottery Draw” last week will soon see £11,749,355 appear in his or her bank account.

And that's what we all dream about, don’t we…?

429 - A single Powerball winner receives astonishing amount of $430 million

Speaking of huge prizes and winners who keep them for themselves: somebody in the USA must have fallen from their chair in amazement when he or she checked the numbers on their lottery ticket. The lucky lottery winner lives in New Jersey and bought the Powerball ticket at a 7/11 in Trenton.

50 - Canadian lotto jackpot of $50 million won in Quebec

The lottery drawing in Canada last Friday resulted in just one winner of the Max Lotto. The lottery ticket was bought in Quebec and is worth $50 million, according to CP24.com in Canada.

24 - Jackpot of almost £24 million

We recently gave you some background information on the “football lottery”. Many clubs in England have a lotto that is connected in one way or another to a charitable organisation, such as a foundation or youth training program, or the investment fund which allows a manager to attract new players. The jackpot starts at £7.5 million and is available for all participating clubs. The jackpot has been growing rapidly in the past few weeks. The correct numbers have not yet been guessed, and the jackpot just keeps growing. At this time, the so-called “football lottery” is worth £23.7 million.

So look up your favourite club and make a wager! It is a win-win proposition. Just fill in the correct numbers.
