Last week’s overview (16th to 22nd May 2016)
Research conducted by the Camelot Group has shown that Glasgow is the best place to become a millionaire via the UK National Lottery. Glasgow has been home to 21 new lotto millionaires since 2014.
Looking at prizes with a value of £50,000 or more, Birmingham, with 1,180 winners, is the best place to buy your ticket. Taking all prizes into consideration, residents in Romford, Liverpool, Warrington, Newcastle and Wigan are the luckiest.
The National Lottery is also responsible for a significant contribution to UK charities. An amount in the region of £34 million is made available every single year. An impressive 29,000 projects were able to benefit from this in 2015.
The tension has been rising in Italy for many weeks. As previously reported, the SuperEnalotto is now well on its way to breaking all records. The jackpot is currently well into the 80 million. To be precise, a total of € 86,200.000 is currently up for grabs if you have filled in the correct numbers and if you are the only one to do so.
Fancy your chances? Then make sure you buy your SuperEnalotto ticket(s) online as soon as possible.
Despite the joy amongst a large number of employees, an Australian company is unfortunately needing to deal with a problem. A group of 14 employees working at Prysmian Cables and Systems in Liverpool (Sydney) have jointly won the jackpot. This amounts to $2.85 million per participant.
However, a manager at the factory is now claiming he also formed part of the group. And that he is therefore entitled to a share of the 40 million. According to the Daily Mail, the manager is sat at home waiting for his lawyer to contact him with the outcome. As stated, he is demanding part of the jackpot and doesn’t want anything to be paid out to the 14 winners until he has his share.
It’s not just the Italian SuperEnalotto which hasn’t been won, the Mega Millions jackpot is also continuing to rise. As no one correctly guessed last week’s numbers either, the jackpot for this American top lottery is now set at $ 203 million (cash $132 million).
