This has long been the case in the United States. Thanks to rapidly increasing, large jackpots, buying lottery tickets for games like the Powerball and Mega Millions has become very lucrative. That is, if you are interested in getting rich quick and making all your dreams come true. EuroMillions is keeping up with the times, too, and continues to grow larger. Now on to the next step—at the end of September, a number of changes are on the way.
The most important change is that the EuroMillions jackpot will increase more quickly. The starting amount will change from 15 to 17 million. This will partly be achieved through a higher entry fee (the price were ticket will go from 3.00 to 3.50) and the addition of a 12th star. In addition to a higher jackpot that will be increasing more quickly, there will be a special EuroMillions ‘Millionaire’s Drawing’. This new drawing selects 25 European winners who each have €1,000,000 added to their bank accounts. Each participating country will have 1 of the 25 winners (the EuroMillions is a transnational lottery, after all).
The EuroMillions jackpot is regularly increased to a ridiculous amount. This so-called ‘Super Draw’ was once at least 100 million euros. Under the new arrangement, this mega jackpot will immediately jump to more than 130 million euros—and, as history has shown, this will increase quickly.
These changes will start from the drawing on Saturday, 24 September 2016. We have laid out a list of the most important matters for you:
As already mentioned, these changes will go into effect as of this coming 24 September. For now, however, the jackpot remains at a fine sum of €15,000,000
