The lotto report: week 29 in numbers

Since you are probably very busy yourself, ELS Lotto will provide an overview of the latest lotto news. What Jackpot was (finally) hit? Which lottery is new or is going to change? Which lotto winners have we seen on the Internet during the past week? Every week, ELS Lotto gives you an overview of the main lottery events, news and tips.

Last week’s overview (18 July through 24 July 2016)

369 - ELS Lotto Jackpot at a record €369 million

It does not seem like anyone is hitting the mega jackpots of the biggest lotteries in Europe. These can all be played via ELS Lotto, but the dedicated readers of the Lotto blog surely know that already. You can win the ludicrous final amount of €369,600,000 by grabbing a ticket for all of the lotteries. After that, you have to pick all the right numbers, though. Moving along...

15 - Winning ticket for 15 million hidden for two weeks while on holiday

This story is sure to draw some strange looks from people. Imagine having packed all your bags, checking your lotto numbers with the iPad on the table, and then finding out that all your numbers match. In this case, it earned Alison and John Doherty £14,671,343. Alison and John went on holiday first, but not before finding a proper hiding place for the winning ticket. Once they arrived home, they cashed it in, and the couple can now enjoy a host of new luxuries. However, John has continued with his work as a plumber. Despite the fact that he had already promised his services to various clients, John really enjoys working. Sitting still is just not his thing.

117 - €100,000 winning ticket discovered while cleaning car

It certainly is not the most fun job you could imagine. However, everything must be given its due diligence at one time or another, including cleaning up after yourself. As evidenced by a recent case in England, this can sometimes be highly lucrative. While cleaning rubbish from her car, a woman found a number of lottery tickets. When having the numbers checked later, it appeared that one of the tickets was worth the staggering amount of £98,000 (€ 117,023). Plan on cleaning your home or car any time soon?

10 - More than 10 million in prizes have yet to be claimed

Not everyone checks and submits their winning tickets promptly. National Lottery players in the United Kingdom have 180 days to announce their winning tickets and claim their prize. After this period of time, the prizes expire and are donated to charitable causes.

In the past four months, there have been at least 10 unclaimed prizes of £1 million. There are still two months left to the expiration period. Are you one of ten lucky winners by any chance?

528 - The final winner of more than 500 million dollars finally appears

Everyone remembers that an absurd jackpot record was broken in the United States in mid-January. After months of suspense, the Powerball lottery was struck with a winning combination (4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball number 10) for a prize of roughly 1.5 billion dollars. As it turned out, there were three winners who were each to receive $528.8 million dollars. Two of the three winners quickly stepped forward, but the third remained unknown - until this week. The owner of the third ticket has finally stepped forward.

9 - Finally going to France after winning the Lotto 6/49

In Canada, a couple that recently won the lottery finally has the opportunity to spend a holiday in France. It has been on their wish list for years, but there was never a chance to make this dream come true until now. Their winning Lotto 6/49 ticket netted them the hefty sum of $9,383,662.50 - plenty of money to turn into a wonderful trip.

What kind of dreams do you have on your wish list?
